InductorQ

class pmrf.models.components.lumped.InductorQ(L: Any, Q: Any, *, name: str | None = None, metadata: Any = None)

Bases: Model

A 2-port model of a series inductor with a finite Quality Factor (Q).

Mathematical Formulation

The impedance is \(Z = \omega L (1/Q + j)\). For MNA it is stamped as a branch, with one auxiliary current \(I\) and \(V_1 - V_2 - Z I = 0\), which is exact at L = 0 (ADR-0007). Its admittance \(1 / Z\), returned by y(), is undefined there.

Parameters:
  • L (Param) – The inductance in Henrys

  • Q (Param) – The quality factor representing non-ideal losses. Must be positive.

mna(freq: Frequency) → MNAStamp

(experimental) Modified Nodal Analysis (MNA) stamp.

Can be overridden in sub-classes.

Otherwise converts from another domain (y2mna, z2mna, etc.). Y is preferred because it gives the sparsest stamp; other domains add auxiliary variables.
